Essential Tips

Getting Around

The city centre is very walkable. Use the TRAM (light rail) for beaches and suburbs. Taxis and Uber are affordable for airport transfers.

Budget Guide

Expect €10–15 for a tapas meal, €30–50 for a nice restaurant. Entry to Castillo Santa Bárbara and MACA is free. Ferry to Tabarca ~€25 return.

Spanish Timing

Lunch runs 14:00–16:00 and dinner rarely starts before 21:00. Embrace the local rhythm — it's part of the experience!

What to Pack

Light summer clothes, sunscreen (the April sun is strong!), a light layer for evenings, and comfortable walking shoes for the cobblestones.

Language

Spanish (Castilian) and Valencian are both spoken. A few words of Spanish go a long way. Most tourist areas have English-speaking staff.

Connectivity

Free Wi-Fi in most hotels, cafés and public areas. Buy a local SIM at the airport for cheap data, or roam with an EU plan.
